...I'm sorry! I promise I really did mean to post more but somehow blogging always seems to end up in the "put off till later" category! I actually have a reason to post now though because the exceptionally clever, talented and all round nice people at G'Vine gin along with the ever entertaining Mr Philip Duff have created a rather cool competition that requires, amongst other things, a blog post. Now the thing that makes this competition particularly clever (as well as challenging) is that it is not simply a cocktail competition but rather an educational tool, marketing campaign, loyalty program and international competition all rolled into one!
The G'Vine Gin Connoisseurs Program 2010 requires particpants to complete a number of tasks including online training and examinations (ending with a rather intense final essay!)write a blog post, design a signature cocktail or serve, and drive sales of G'Vine in their bars. The twelve finalists, drawn from around three hundred competitors across the globe and including the top scorers as well as a few Wildcards, will be taken to the home of G'Vine in Cognac, France for a week of education and competition culminating in the naming of the G'Vine Gin Connoisseur 2010. This lucky (and by now Gin soaked) individual will be whisked away on a rather unbelievable tour of European Gin cities past, present and future (Amsterdam, London and Paris in case you were wondering)being treated to all manner of things both pleasant and refined including 5 star meals and tailored clothing. Being a Gin Connoisseur is clearly a tough job so it's a good thing you're also financially compensated with a cool $3000 for your trouble.
Like I said...tough job!
So believe it or not this actually wasn't my G'Vine post and I will shortly be following up with yet another post and recipe for my G'Vine Signature Cocktail!
I promise...
