Welcome…to what will hopefully be the beginning of many posts on life behind the stick in Africa. A place that while being a bit of a cocktail backwater and not always on the cutting edge of international drinks trends, has (I hope) enough vibrancy and interesting quirks to provide (not withstanding my writing abilities) a good read and perhaps a few good drinks too. So let’s venture, armed with a love of all things cocktail, into the world of drinking in Africa, a different, sometimes frustrating, sometimes humbling but always interesting experience.
